Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Social Sciences & Educational Studies (IJSSES) welcomes submissions that make meaningful contributions to the fields of education and social sciences. All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a rigorous double‑blind peer‑review process. Only submissions that meet the journal’s scholarly and ethical standards will proceed to review.

Before submitting a manuscript, authors are required to carefully read and follow the guidelines outlined below.

1. Scope and Editorial Screening

All manuscripts are initially reviewed by an editor to determine whether they:

  • Align with the aims and scope of IJSSES
  • Meet academic quality standards
  • Follow ethical research principles
  • Adhere to required formatting and structure

Submissions failing to meet these criteria may be desk‑rejected without external review.

2. Permissions and Author Responsibilities

Before submitting, authors must ensure that:

  • All authors listed on the manuscript consent to authorship
  • Permissions have been obtained for any copyrighted materials (photos, data, instruments, etc.)
  • Ethical approval for human‑subjects research has been secured where applicable
  • The manuscript is original, not published previously, and not under review elsewhere

3. Manuscript Formatting Requirements

Authors must use the official IJSSES Template.
Manuscripts prepared outside the template will not proceed to review.

Formatting standards include:

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12‑point, double‑spaced
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm)
  • Figures and tables: embedded within the text, clearly labeled
  • Recommended length: 5,000–8,000 words excluding references

To maintain formatting, authors must copy and paste their manuscript directly into the IJSSES Template.

The file name must be the title of the manuscript.

4. Manuscript Structure

A complete manuscript must contain the following sections:

  1. Title Page
    • Title
    • Full author names and affiliations
    • Corresponding author email
  2. Abstract (150–250 words)
    • Purpose, methods, key findings, and implications
    • 3–6 keywords
  3. Main Body
    • Introduction
    • Literature Review / Theoretical Background
    • Methodology
    • Results / Findings
    • Discussion
    • Conclusion and Implications
  4. References (APA style)
  5. Appendices (if applicable)

Authors must ensure that the research design, argumentation, and methodology are clearly articulated before submission.

5. Referencing Requirements

IJSSES follows APA (latest edition) referencing style. Authors must:

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all references
  • Confirm that all intext citations appear in the reference list
  • Format references consistently according to APA standards

6. Ethical Expectations

Authors must:

  • Submit original work free from plagiarism
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Provide ethical approval details where required
  • Disclose conflicts of interest
  • Use AI tools only for language editing, with full disclosure (no AI‑generated content, data, or references)

Misconduct—including plagiarism, data manipulation, duplicate submission, or falsification—results in immediate rejection.

7. Mandatory Forms to Upload (hyperlink all the forms  - the section about the forms!)

Authors are required to download, complete, sign, and upload all three mandatory forms along with the manuscript file:

  1. Copyright Transfer & Licensing Agreement
Confirms originality and grants IJSSES the non‑exclusive right to publish.
  2. Conflict of Interest (COI) Disclosure Form
Ensures transparency regarding any financial, academic, or personal relationships.
  3. Ethical Compliance Statement
Confirms ethical approval, originality, data integrity, authorship criteria, and AI disclosure.

These forms must be uploaded as separate files during the submission process.
Submissions missing any of these forms will be returned to the authors for completion.
